Marvel has a Big Plan for Phase 4. There is a huge list of movies, TV shows that they announced. After the launch of the Disney Plus Streaming service, Marvel has a lot of Plans for TV series. They can build a lot of individual characters and then feature them on a big screen.

MCU Phase 4 TV series list with the release date
As I told you earlier, Marvel has a lot of plans for building new characters via the Disney Plus series. Including new characters like, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, She-HULK which were announced later.

Marvel Phase 4 Movies
Here we will talk briefly about every movie lined up for the next phase. We will share about cast, news, theory & everything we know as of now.
1. Black Widow
Black-Widow will the twenty-fourth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
Scarlett Johansson will return as Black Widow one more time. Cast includes David Harbour (aka Red Guardian), Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova (the second Black Widow), O-T Fagbenle as Mason, and Rachel Weisz as Melina.
Cate Shortland is the director of the movie. Written by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson.
Plot Details:
Black-Widow will release on May 21, 2020. The film takes place between the events of the Civil War and the Infinity war. RDJ is going to appear as Tony Stark one last time as a cameo role. Task Master will be the Main Villain of the Movie.
This movie will take place after the events of Civil War. We could make a general guess that Natasha will be on run. As we see in civil war that the Avengers team was broken up.
After Natasha Romanoff helped Winter Soldier and Captain America escape from the government. Tony was disappointed with her and he mocks her saying “Double agent thing must be stuck in your DNA”.
Then he tells her that “T’Challa told Ross(United States Secretary of State). They are coming for you.” Then Romanoff disappears. We can easily picture that now she is on the run.
The Govt. will be after her as she helped escape Bucky and Rogers. So we could expect to see her dealing with all of this. We also have many rumors suggesting that Deadpool could feature in the Black Widow credit scene.
2. The Eternals
Films cast includes Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, and Angelina Jolie as Thena.
Gemma Chan will play Sersi. She also played Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel. Kit Harrington will play Dane Whitman a.k.a The Black Knight. Barry Keoghan will play the film’s villain, Druig.
Madden revealed a little at SDCC, saying: “ The Eternals are a race of immortal aliens sent by the Celestials to protect humankind from the Deviants.”
“It will be a story that will introduce you to this incredibly eclectic group of immortals. They’re the focus of the story” said Feige in an interview with comicbook.com. He confirmed that it takes place in the MCU.
3. Shang-Chi: And the Legend of the Ten Rings
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will release on Feb. 12, 2021. That just happens to be Chinese New Year for that year.
This will be the first Asian-led superhero movie. We will see Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, the Master of Kung-fu and Tony Leung as the Mandarin, the real one.
Mandarin shown in Iron Man was not the real one. As confirmed at SDCC we will get to see the real Mandarin in this movie. Awkwafina will also appear in Shang-Chi in an as-yet-unnamed role.
4. Spider-Man 3
Yes, Spiderman 3 is happening. After the deal between both Disney and sony was broken. It was said that we will no longer get to see him swinging in the MCU.
However, now he is going to return. Thanks to the new deal between Sony and Disney. We are getting another Spider-man movie with Tom holland and he will also appear in one additional MCU movie.
The film is scheduled to release on November 5, 2021. Expect major cast to return for their respective roles. We don’t know much about the movie right now. Expect information in the coming years.
5. Thor: Love and Thunder
This will be the last Marvel Phase 4 movie announced till now. Maybe one of the most exciting out there. Thor: Love and Thunder will release on November 6, 2021.
Of course, Chris Hemsworth will be back as Thor. Tessa Thompson is back as Valkyrie. But the big reveal was that Natalie Portman will return as Jane Foster as The Mighty Thor.
Taika Waititi is also returning to direct and write Love and Thunder.
Thor 4 one of the most anticipated movies of Phase 4 after Doctor Strange in many fan’s lists. As discussed above, Natalie will be playing Lady Thor a.k.a The Mighty Thor.
Many fan theory suggests that we will see that Thor is no longer worthy. Instead, Jane Foster will take his place and proves to be worthy. Eventually becoming Mighty Thor.
However, we still don’t have any clue how Mjölnir is going to come back to the main timeline. Some theories suggest that Loki ( from 2012 timeline ) who escaped with Tesseract will find a way to come to the main Timeline. Consequently bringing Mjölnir with him.
We still don’t know how he will lift Mjölnir. But maybe we will see all of this in the LOKI TV series. We also have Timeline reveal of Thor 4 confirmed by James Gunn.
6. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Easily one of the Most Anticipated Movies of Phase 4 so far. Because this movie is going to explore Multiverse as already suggested in the title.
We all know what Multiverse can bring into the MCU. Maybe this is the way they could introduce X-men, Fantastic-Four. Not to forget about major Villains like Nightmare, Galactus and many more. The possibilities are endless.
Doctor Strange 1 already suggested that Multiverse does exist in the MCU. So in this movie, we will see Strange exploring Multiverse.
Benedict Cumberbatch will return as Stephen Strange as will Benedict Wong as Wong. However, it’s still unclear whether we’ll see more of Chiwetel Ejiofor as Mordo.
But the major cast joining this movie is Elizabeth Olsen, aka Scarlet Witch. Feige confirmed that WandaVision will directly lead to Dr. Strange 2. So isn’t that awesome?
The movie is scheduled to release on May 7, 2021. Scott Derrickson will return as Director.
The villain of Doctor Strange 2:
Scott confirmed that this movie will be the first Horror film in the MCU. After this statement, we have a lot of theories that we will get to see Vanda in her evil avatar.
We will see the darker side of Scarlett witch. Nightmare is rumored to be the main villain of the Movie. Which we think is quite possible as Nightmare is the ruler of the Dream Dimension. And we’ll get to see an epic fight between Doctor Strange vs Nightmare.
As already confirmed by the Director that this is going to be first-ever MCU horror film. So it strengthens the rumor of having Nightmare as the villain. Because that’s what Nightmare is famous for. He torments people in their dreams. I think that is going to be the horror Part of the Movie.
Cumberbatch confirmed that Doctor Strange will encounter “A twist of horror that will really have people gripped. We’re going back to try and destroy a bit I think.”
Marvel Phase 4 TV shows
After the introduction of the Disney Plus streaming service, Marvel has a lot of plans for introducing many new characters. As it is really hard to make an individual movie on so many character.
However, with 6 hours of screen Marvel can build up many new characters and they plan to do the same. Major characters they plan to introduce are Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk. With other series exploring other MCU characters already present.
So let’s straight into this and see what TV series Marvel has Planned to introduce.
1. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be available for streaming from ‘Fall 2020’ on Disney Plus. This will be the first Phase 4 TV show.
You all know that after Endgame Sam Wilson will be the new Captain America now. As Steve Rogers gives him his shield. Wilson will be teaming up with Bucky Barnes, who is rumored to return as White Wolf as teased in Infinity War also.
As many theories suggest, the U.S Govt. is not happy seeing a Black Captain America. So there is the main Plot of the point and we will see Sam Wilson dealing with this.
However, I think he will also have to deal with a Major Villain Baron Zemo. Who we have seen in the Civil War. He is confirmed to return but this time he will also get his Mask as he had in Comics Version.
So Talking about the cast: Anthony Mackie will return as Falcon and Captain America. Sebastian Stan will return as Winter Soldier and hopefully as White Wolf.
Daniel Bruhl will return as Helmut Zemo, Emily VanCamp played Sharon Carter, SHIELD agent.
Anthony Mackie said he wants to find out “What makes The Winter Soldier tick and what ticks him off.”
2. LOKI
Tom Hiddleston will be back at the god of mischief in Spring 2021 on Disney+ series.
You might be wondering if he died then how come he is returning as LOKI. Then don’t worry as you guys seen him in Endgame. Where he escapes with tesseract from 2012.
So, guys, he is the LOKI from 2012. He is pissed off as he just got HULK smash. So you guys can guess in which avatar we are going to see him. He will be eviler than before.
As per the reports from THR, the series will follow Loki as the trickster and shape-shifter. Who pops up throughout human history as an unlikely influence on historical events.
However, the major plot theory suggests that this series will directly tie-up with Thor: Love and Thunder. Where Loki somehow finds a way to return to the main timeline along with Mjölnir.
3. WandaVision
Easily one of the most awaited Phase 4 TV shows. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany will return to their roles as Scarlet Witch and Vision. It will be released in Spring 2021.
Yes, we are going to see Vision once again. Though it is still unclear how is it actually going to happen. How vision will come to life after his tragic death in Avengers: Infinity War. Maybe we will see Shuri rebuilding him.
Bettany already said he “has no idea” about Vision’s return. Even if he knew he can’t tell us right. But there is an awesome theory out there that suggests that we will see Wanda in a negative role.
This theory suggests that she is deeply tormented with the death of Vision Such that she creates an alternate reality. She even creates her children with Vision. Eventually, that leads to the introduction of X-men and Fantastic-four in the MCU.
You guys might already know that she actually has powers to actually wrap reality. So she does the same. This series will directly lead to Doctor Strange 2. As a result, we might see Strange Handling all the mess that she created.
4. What If…?
Presenting you the first MCU Animated series. This series is not in the continuity of the MCU timeline. Means they will not continue the stories of MCU instead will show us interesting alternate possibilities
This show will reportedly have 23 episodes for each 23 MCU movies. One of the What if…? episodes we will see includes: What if Peggy Carter was Captain Britain? What if T’Challa was Star-lord?
We also get to see a Zombie Captain America. See photos below
We will also see every actor returning to give a voice for their respective character. However, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. will not return.
5. Hawkeye
Jeremy Renner will return as Hawkeye in Fall 2021 on Disney Plus. We don’t have much info about the cast yet.
As this show is to years far away from now. However, we do have general info about the plot of the series. Marvel already confirmed in the SDCC where they revealed the show.
This show will feature Barton training Kate Bishop. Jeremy is really excited about this show. He told the audience at SDCC that “Kate Bishop is the best Hawkeye out there. And I get to teach someone else how to be a superhero without superpowers.”
Feige also confirmed at SDCC that we’ll explore more of Hawkeye’s time as Ronin in-between Infinity War and Endgame. So this is going to be really amazing. We will get to see more of Clint’s Ronin Avatar.
We still don’t know who will play Kate Bishop but Hailee Steinfeld is in the talks of playing the role.
6. Ms. Marvel
Ms. Marvel’s character was first incarnated by Carol Danvers. Who later took up the identity of Captain Marvel. As a result, her name was passed on to Kamala Khan. She is a teen protege of Danvers who is Marvel’s first Muslim superhero character to headline her own comic book.
News of Ms. Marvel’s was actually leaked even before the official announcement of the series at the D23 Expo. However, Marvel still revealed the series as it is.
Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel will be the first Muslim superhero in the MCU appearing in Marvel Phase 4. Marvel also revealed two more Disney Plus shows at D23 Expo of She–HULK and Moon Knight.
We still don’t know when will this be available. But this show will be released after Hawkeye.
7. Moon Knight
The character Moon Knight, or Marc Spector, is a former mercenary and CIA agent. He has multiple personalities and is imbued with powers from an Egyptian god.
Don’t know who Moon-Knight is? Don’t worry. He is basically Marvel’s Batman. At least that’s what fans say. He is really a Dark character, a vigilante. Don’t know how Marvel will portal him as a PG-13 character.
He should be Rated-R but I think that’s not possible because of Disney. While Fans are really excited to see his live-action version. But at the same time they also furious as who wants to see a PG-13 Moon Knight?
Just Imagine would you enjoy a Pg-13 Daredevil? Obviously a big No. So this will be pretty interesting to see how Marvel will handle this character.
However, as of now, we don’t have any casting info. We only got a logo. This show will be released after Ms. Marvel.
8. She-HULK
Jennifer Walters is the cousin of Bruce Banner. Whose superhuman powers transferred to her when she received a transfusion of Banner’s blood.
One of the trios of Disney+ MCU shows that Marvel revealed at D23. She-HULK confirmed to be coming to the streaming service. We don’t have any time for its release as well.
So we only got its logo at this moment. This show will be released after Moon-Knight. No casting information as of now. But an interesting fact: Logo matches the color schemes of She-Hulk’s costume which is pretty cool.
Confirmed Movies beyond Marvel Phase 4
While Kevin Feige doesn’t announce whether these movies will be in Phase 4 or Phase 5. But he confirmed two big Titles :
1. BLADE
Okay, so this one is officially confirmed. But it is unclear whether this movie will be in Phase 4 or 5.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige shocked Hall H at SDCC 2019 by announcing a Blade movie. His exacts words were “You’ve heard about rumors. But I want to leave you with today is one more thing that I don’t think’s been rumored about.”
He welcomes Two-time Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali to the stage. Where he also revealed the logo of the movie.
2. Black Panther 2
Black Panther was a huge success. So worst thing Marvel could do it to not make a Black Panther 2. Which obviously aren’t going to do.
As a result, they already announced Black Panther 2 at D23. Kevin Feige confirmed that a Black Panther sequel is coming to cinemas. With director Ryan Coogler returning as Director, who is currently working on the story.
Coogler also took to the stage at D23 2019. He teased unveiling both the official title. Coogler confirmed that it won’t be called ‘Black Panther 2’. He also revealed the release date of Black Panther 2 i.e., May 8, 2022. So this will probably be the first movie of Phase 5.
Marvel’s Plan after Phase 4
While Kevin Feige didn’t officially announce the next movies after Phase 4. But he did reveal some of the Big and anticipated Titles. Here is the video for the same : ( He announced Black Panther 2 later at SDCC )

1. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will definitely come. As James Gunn already confirmed that GOTG3 is happening.
As asked by a fan where is GOTG 3 from the SDCC announcement. Gunn confirmed that GOTG 3 is happening. But he is still working on a Suicide Squad.
So we could expect a late 2022 release. Expect all the cast to return to play their respective roles. James still has his original plan of introducing Adam warlock in the GOTG 3.
2. Captain Marvel 2
After the crazy success of Captain Marvel, it’s pretty obvious that we will get a Part 2. However, we are still far from that but as Feige confirmed that there will be a Captain Marvel 2. Expect an announcement in upcoming years.
Update: Captain Marvel is scheduled to release on July 8, 2022
3. Mutants
As you can see in the video above, He said: “We don’t have time to talk about mutants.” So be ready to see your favorite X-men character in the MCU.
After the Disney-Fox merger, it was obvious that we will get to see Mutants. But now it’s confirmed by Feige. However, we don’t have any info regarding when will this happen.
But expect that after a long time gap maybe later stages of Phase 5 or even start of Phase 6. We also have rumors surrounding MCU that HULK vs Wolverine Movie is in development.
After this announcement, one interviewer asked him about the Deadpool? Which he replied that he considered him in mutants. So expect Deadpool really soon maybe even before the X-men.
4. Fantastic-Four
When Fiege was explaining that “We don’t have time to talk about mutants.” He also mentioned Fantastic-Four. As you can see in the above video.
So Marvel already has Planned for Fantastic-Four also. We have an awesome theory that suggests how Fantastic Four can be introduced in the MCU. This is a pretty awesome theory you might wanna checkout.
5. Avengers 5
Yes, you heard it right. Feige already has plans for the next Avengers movie. However, this movie is the farthest away from us right now. But it will happen at some point.
Feige told MTV News that “The next Avengers movie will be a very different incarnation of the team. With some people you’ve already met and some you haven’t met yet.“
But don’t expect this to happen until 2022.
