Marvel Fresh Start: The Beginner’s Guide And Reading Order

Marvel Fresh Start is a rebranding or relaunch of comic book publications following Marvel Legacy. So today I’m gonna share a complete reading guide for these ongoing storylines.

But before that please note one thing even though it is named ‘Fresh Start’, it’s not really. The new issue may or may not have some references to things that happened in previous storylines.

So clearly it won’t be a reboot and some issues may even continue with the previous story. But don’t worry if you’ve never read any comics then let me tell you it might be the best time to get started. Here’s the reason:

If you’re thinking that you’ll read everything and the origin of every character then just don’t. As there’s too much to read. So I will advise you to either start with your favorite character’s popular acclaimed stories or just start with this guide.

I know it’s gonna be hard but you’ll enjoy it. Treat every story as if it were self-contained. And let me tell you unlike MCU, comics are not that continuous.

But it’s rather a collection of smaller arcs/stories/ that may occasionally remind readers that they are a part of the bigger Universe.

Part 1: Storyline of Avengers, Guardians, and Defenders

This is how you can start reading this ‘Marvel Fresh Start’. First, you will read about the storyline of Avengers, defenders, and Guardians.

Part 1.1: Infinity Countdown Event

The multiverse was destroyed in the Secret Wars which resulted in the destruction of Infinity Stones. But now Multiverse is being restored so are the gems.

Hence this event shows Hank Pym and Ultron going after the recreated Infinity Stones. Also, this will lead up to the Infinity Wars event.

Part 1.2: Avengers Reassemble Event

As the title suggests itself, Avengers reunite again in a new era of Marvel Fresh Start. Black Panther is in the Space.

The Big Three: Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor are back in the game. After some solo stories and arcs, they come together as Celestials are about to attack.

Part 1.3: Marvel Knights Defenders of the Streets

With the new Marvel Fresh Start series, street-level heroes also get a new fresh start. So we’ll see Spider-Man, Misty Knight, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Clock & Danger back in action again.

After the Secret Empire, Deadpool and Frank Castle are still trying to pick things up and find their answers.

Part 3: Spider-Geddon Storyline

Spider-Geddon is a limited 2018 comic book storyline under Marvel Fresh start. It is a sequel to Spider-Verse, featuring Spider-Man and his supporting heroes.

In this storyline, the Inheritors are somehow out of the decimated world where they were kept imprisoned. So now they are determined to take their revenge on the Spider-army.

Part 3.1: Back to Basics

So as the name suggests, Peter Parker will get back to his basics and fight with his old foes. Because Peter Industries are no more and Mary Jane is back in the game again.
