Avenger Time Traveled to 2988 ?
A Huge Easter egg is revealed by a reddit user. This suggest that may be an Avenger time traveled to 2988.

We all know that Avengers: Endgame is full of Easter Eggs. That much is evident thanks to one now-viral online posting.
u/kobikwahbz posted this Easter Egg on r/MarvelStudios Subreddit. Remember when 2014 Nebula Brings the Thanos army to 2023. You can see the below pic.
This is the Time where we see what’s written in the The Time Machine. We see that’s its the Year 2012, 2988 and 2009.
2012 is the one where Avengers actually Time Traveled. But why is there 2009 and 2988 written. That’s what sparked the conversation in subreddit.
While the option is there someone went forward into the 29th century. But it’s much more likely that they traveled backward in time a substantial amount.

As plenty of commenters on the thread have pointed out if you think back to Thor: The Dark World, Thor’s grandfather Bor was in possession of the Aether.
In fact, the First Battle of Svartalfheim took place in 2988 B.C., where Bor first encountered Malekith and the Dark Elves.
Why Avengers Traveled to 2988…?
Though it’s tough to know why the year is on the display screen above, seen when 2014 Nebula is bringing time-traveling Thanos and his armies through.
It would seem to suggest the Avengers may have tried going back to the time to try getting the Aether then. That, or they were testing just how far they could go in the timeline.
Also we can see 2009 date in this particular frame. We know exactly no events took place in 2009 in MCU.
However, at that time the Space Stone was in custody of S.H.I.E.L.D. Maybe initially Avengers Plan was to bring Tesseract from 2009.
It’s also possible that Nebula programmed the time to send Thanos back. Though, for whatever reason, he was unable to take down Bor and the Asgardian army.
Joe Russo already mentioned on the movie’s digital commentary track the Mad Titan was able to reverse engineer Pym Particles to allow traversal through time.
“Now, the obvious assumption being that, Thanos who has a spaceship that can carry his army throughout the galaxy and conquer planets can also figure out how…” Russo said. “Add some Pym Particles… with his magician who can move matter.”
Joe Russo confirmed, we fans still haven’t discovered one Easter Egg. Maybe this is the Easter Egg Joe was Talking about.
